In this presentation, Mary Todd Lincoln emerges as a woman who wholeheartedly supported Mr. Lincoln in his quest for the
presidency of the United States, and who stood behind him during one of the most turbulent times in United States history,
the Civil War. You will also learn how, against all odds, a stalwart 18th-century female slave from upstate New York
withstood her years of oppression to become one of this country's foremost speakers for human rights.

Determined Spirit: The Story of Amelia Earhart
Thursday, March 18, 2010, at 7 p.m.
You are invited to embark on a unique sentimental journey. Actor and historian Monica Hoffman performs as Amelia Earhart in a one-woman show
that reveals the life and legacy of the world's most celebrated female aviator. During the 40-minute performance, Amelia will recall the
events of her life, from her earliest years until her infamous final flight.
Peter Biedermann, Acoustic Guitarist
Saturday, March 20, at 1 p.m.
Peter Biedermann will be returning to the library to perform his original instrumental acoustic guitar music in unique tunings on various
6- and 12-string guitars. The music you will hear is a hybrid of various disciplines and influences that cross a number of boundaries and
genres. While acoustic guitar pioneers such as Michael Hedges, Bert Jansch, Leo Kottke, and Ralph Towner are considered to be major
influences on his music, many other lesser-known originators of finger-style acoustic guitar are acknowledged and referenced at his live
performances.

Lunch 'N' Learn: "Skin Cancer Prevention and Detection, and Other Wound Care and
Skin Care Basics"
Monday, March 22, 2010, Noon to 2 p.m.
Dr. Eric Gross of the Wound Healing Center at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center presents a program on the importance of proper skin care
and wound prevention, the impact of identifying risk factors, and the treatment options for those prone to or suffering with skin cancer,
skin problems, wounds and other healing issues.
A complimentary luncheon is served. Washington Township residents are given priority seating. Please RSVP by March 17.

Coming to New Jersey: Immigration and the Garden State
Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at 7 p.m.
This program, presented by the Morris Museum, explores the diverse cultures that have contributed to New Jersey's history. Whether the
immigrants' reasons for coming were religious, political or economic, New Jersey's history is full of the stories of everyday men and women.

Florence Nightingale: Tragedy, Truth and Reform
Thursday, March 25, 2010, at 7 p.m.
Gail Werner, R.N., Masters of Medical Humanities, will discuss the enigma of Florence Nightingale in relation to her extraordinary
accomplishments in hospital organization. Come and join us in learning about a woman following her passion to serve those in need and to
bring about meaningful change in a man's world. Florence navigated her career through Victorian England's customs and beliefs. England's
global policies set the stage for establishing a massive death camp for English troops, and Florence played a role in this tragic scenario.
She faced many challenges that were created by the Crimean War, and these influenced Florence and her future work.

Quilt Connections
Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at 7 p.m.
Quilts serve as tangible expressions of community and heritage. The Morris Museum will explore the stories that lie between the stitches
while discussing the art and history of quilting in various cultural groups. You will see samples from the Morris Museum collection.
