Museum Passes
Beside museum passes for the Guggenheim, the Friends of the Library have purchased passes for The Museum of Early Trades & Crafts, the Grounds for Sculpture, Macculloch Hall Historical Museum, and The Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms. The passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis -- they cannot be put on hold -- and are good for three days.

Lifetime Learning: "American Stories: Genre Painting 1700-1920"
Friday, May 17, 24, and 31, and June 7, from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
The second session for Spring 2013 will be an art history series taught by Dr. Barbara Tomlinson. The genre paintings discussed in this course tell uniquely American stories.

Garden Treasures & Design Finds

Patti Bowman, a member of the Garden Club of Long Valley, will provide a presentation and demonstration on Garden Treasures & Design Finds. Come get inspired by Patti's creative approach to floral design and learn which garden treasures can play double duty as floral design additions!
Patti is a graduate of the New York Botanical Garden's Floral Design Program, owner of Violet & Vine, an event floral design company, and an award-winning floral designer.

Friends of the Library Movie Night

This month's movie is about legendary Hollywood director. Plagued by both a reckless ego and nagging self-doubt, he becomes obsessed with a grisly murder story that studios won't back. Determined, he risks his reputation, his home, and even the love of his wife as he sets out to make the film. As usual, we will have free popcorn and snacks.

Genealogy Series: "Free Online Resources at the DAR"
Thursday, June 20, at 7 p.m.
Fifth-generation D.A.R. member Karen Stroever, Incoming NJDAR State Vice Regent, will show how to get the most out of the D.A.R. Library through the Internet, present the GRC (indexed Genealogical Records Collection), and introduce the amazing resources of the great library in Washington, D.C. She will also explain what kind of proofs are required of prospective members and how to obtain them.
