Databases
Unlike a website that you find through searching the internet, a databasesdatabase is a resource that the library purchases. So the information that you find there is reliable just like the information in a book or a periodical. In fact, the information that you find on a database IS a book, article, or periodical and NOT a website (even though you are reading it on the computer). This information also "counts" as a book, article, or periodical, not a website, when you are citing your sources for a school project!

Websites

Should I use a database or a website...what's the difference? Why is searching a database better for accurate information than using Google(c)?

That's easy! ANYONE can put ANYTHING up on the web. Just because a search engine picks it up does not mean that the information is accurate. But a database, on the other hand, is a resource that the library purchases.
