- What book have you read recently that you have liked? Look up that book’s author. Maybe
he/she has others that you will like too!
- What genre is the book? Fantasy? Sports? Contemporary? Historical? Mystery?
Try another in that genre.
- Use NoveList to find book suggestions.
- Click HERE to go to the catalog.
- Log in and click on "Good Reading" on the right side under “Library Info” to open Novelist.

- Browse “Recommended Reading Lists” (left side of the NoveList page) by selecting your age group then clicking on a genre and then the subgenre.
- Explore NoveList for more reading ideas.

- Read the summary on the back of the book / book flap.
- Thumb through the book to see if it is the type of book that you want to read.
- Read through the first several pages.
- Pull up several reviews of the book online to see how (and for whom) it is recommended. Look through several reviews to get a better feel for the book.
The Library Catalog compiles reviews for many titles.
- Click HERE to go to the catalog.
- Look up the book & click on "Reviews & More"
- Read the reviews. Does this sound like a book that you would want to read? For what ages/grades does the reviewer recommend this book?
